Christine is a Senior Program Associate at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. In this role, she focuses on cultivating sustainable and collaborative local news ecosystems and manages the Local Fix newsletter and other public-facing efforts. Christine also supports Democracy Fund’s efforts in press freedom and in the NewsMatch collaboration.
Christine joined Democracy Fund in 2020 after reporting on local news innovation as a staff writer at Nieman Lab, a media industry publication based at Harvard. There, she analyzed nonprofit journalism models and sustainability experiments across local newsrooms and studied systems thinking through the Harvard Extension School. She brings newsroom experience from local outlets such as the Dallas Morning News and KNBC in Los Angeles.
Christine received her B.A. in public policy from The University of Chicago.
