Maura Elizabeth Drumm is the Partnerships Assistant at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. Maura supports the Philanthropic Partnerships department’s emerging strategy where she assists in the organization of events and research, and provides logistical support for the team.
Prior to joining Democracy Fund, Maura worked at a variety of political organizations. She spent time living in Brussels, Belgium and working in European Parliament for a member of parliament from Lithuania. Additionally, Maura worked in the Embassy of Ireland USA where she assisted the Press and Information Counsellor with running the Embassy’s social media accounts, providing daily press summaries, and handling the press corps during the Irish Prime Minister’s visit to Washington, D.C. Maura also assisted in various events held by the Embassy, including the Ambassador’s 1,600 person reception for the Prime Minister. Maura is passionate about the peace process in Northern Ireland and was awarded “with distinction” on her master’s capstone project analyzing the impacts of Brexit on the country.
Maura holds an M.A .in political communication from American University’s School of Public Affairs and graduated from The Catholic University of America with a B.A. in politics and a minor in history and theology.
