Stephanie Krongos is the Senior Staff Accountant at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. As a member of the Operations team, she is responsible for processing all payments for Democracy Fund and Democracy Fund Voice, and providing support for grant payment management systems.
Before coming to Democracy Fund, Stephanie was the Staff Accountant at Jobs With Justice, where she worked for three years. Before moving to the nonprofit realm, Stephanie amassed ten years of finance and accounting experience in the private sector. She has a broad range of knowledge, and extensive experience with Fund and Project Accounting, Budget Management, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) compliance guidelines and requirements, and tax preparation.
In addition to the work she does at Democracy Fund, Stephanie serves on the Executive Committee of the Fair Budget Coalition, a local coalition that enables DC residents to engage in the city’s budget process, and craft the policy solutions that impact their communities. She is also an active with a number of national and local organizations that have a key focus on poverty and injustice.
Stephanie has a B.A. in political Sscience from Humboldt State University. She has completed additional coursework in Accounting at University of California Davis Extension, and is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
