Language Access for Voters Summit 2021

December 17, 2021

The Democracy Fund Language Access for Voters Summit is an annual convening that works to remove language barriers from the voting process. The 2021 virtual convening follows the Census Bureau’s December 8 release of new Section 203 language determinations under the Voting Rights Act (VRA), which provides language assistance in elections.

The two-day agenda features discussions with local, state and federal election officials, voting rights advocates, and translation experts to help election officials navigate and implement the necessary changes. Each session aims to share pragmatic ideas, tools, and best practices for providing language assistance with a focus on the needs of officials in the lead-up to the November 2022 midterm elections.
