Ben Chang is a Senior Program Associate at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. As part of the Elections & Voting team, Ben focuses on challenging and weakening authoritarian threats to our democracy.
Ben has worked extensively at the intersections of policy, politics, and law. Prior to joining Democracy Fund in 2022, Ben worked as Voting Rights Advisor with the Brennan Center for Justice and as Of Counsel, Legislative Program with Government Accountability Project. Previously, Ben worked on impeachment matters for Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). He is also a veteran of numerous political campaigns in the state of Texas.
Ben received his B.A. in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
