Resources for Peer Funders

We can’t do this work alone. Democracy Fund is committed to partnering with a broad group of peer funders to develop strategy, create alignment, and dedicate pooled resources to support the field. We make our team of experts available to assist other foundations and philanthropists in learning about the issues facing democracy and in developing their funding strategies.

Expanding Impact With Joint Funds

Along with some of the nation’s largest grantmakers and philanthropists, Democracy Fund participates in a series of joint funds that leverage additional financial support, reduce the burden on grantees, and move resources to the field quickly and efficiently. When there’s a gap in the field, we partner with others to launch new funds.

Resources for Grantees

Given the complex and interconnected nature of our democratic system, no one organization can pull all the levers necessary to advance the change we wish to see. Grantmaking allows Democracy Fund to empower a range of changemakers within the system, test and iterate new ideas, convene aligned partners and donors, and scale promising initiatives. Drawing on our deeply held values, we build relationships with grantees and partners grounded in mutual respect, humility, and a spirit of working together. We look for opportunities to act as a convener and a bridge builder and to add value to the field beyond the dollars we invest. Please note that Democracy Fund does not accept unsolicited proposals.
