Democracy Fund has committed more than $450 million to support the pro-democracy movement and leaders working to strengthen an inclusive, multiracial democracy. Established and funded by philanthropist and eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and philanthropist Pam Omidyar in 2011, the foundation was incubated inside Omidyar Network. In July 2014, Democracy Fund launched as an independent foundation and is a part of The Omidyar Group.
