Bethany Georgianni

Communications Manager, External Affairs

Bethany is a communications manager at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. In her role, Bethany manages media relations, external engagement, and reputation management. She has over a decade of experience planning and executing communications strategies. She works across program and operational teams to deliver on strategic objectives and distill complex information into engaging resources.

Prior to Democracy Fund she was with Porter Novelli where she led integrated agency teams to prepare and protect clients against reputational threats. She has experience in reputation/issues management, crisis communications, corporate reputation, public affairs, and media relations spanning across service industries including family foundations, nonprofits and associations. Her background also includes financial services work for FICO, FDIC, and various startups focused on financial inclusion and financial literacy. For these clients, she led the development and execution of integrated campaigns across media relations, thought leadership, paid, digital, and social media. She has also coached her clients on how to take a stand on social justice issues.

She earned her M.A. in integrated marketing communications from Georgetown University where she received the Tropia Student of the Year award. She earned her B.S. of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky.​
