Isabella Oliver is the Team Coordinator for the Just and Inclusive Society program at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. Isabella provides high-level programmatic and administrative support by strengthening the team’s systems, operations, project management initiatives, cross-program collaborations, and grantmaking efforts.
Prior to joining Democracy Fund, she worked at the Washington Office on Latin America as the Drug Policy, Women and Incarceration and Cuba Program Associate. She gained a deeper understanding of how to advance human rights in the Americas, and learned to support coalition and network-building initiatives focusing particularly on formerly incarcerated women and family members of people in prison. Isabella was also a Community Organizer with Florida for All’s Theory of Change program in Miami-Dade County, where she convened and developed a local network of progressive organizations striving to make long-lasting impact for communities in situations of vulnerability.
Isabella is also a part of the Miami and Washington, D.C. Global Shapers, a youth-led volunteer organization that strives to support the local community as part of a larger initiative by the World Economic Forum. She received a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a focus on Latin America, as well as a certificate in Latin American studies from the University of Florida. Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, she is also fluent in Spanish.
