Jeyn Levison

Associate Director, Just and Inclusive Society

Jeyn Levison is the Associate Director for the Just and Inclusive Society Program at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. Jeyn helps to lead and strengthen the JIS program’s strategic initiatives.

Jeyn brings over 30 years of non-profit leadership, strategic partnerships, and organizational change and narrative strategies to their work in the social justice and cultural arts sectors. They are rooted in pro-democracy, racial and gender equity, and anti-authoritarian work. Prior to joining Democracy Fund in 2024, Jeyn most recently served as the Deputy Director at 22nd Century Initiative, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Race Forward, and chair of the board of directors at Political Research Associates.

A creative and cultural organizer and on-the-ground activist, Jeyn has focused over the years in the fields of reproductive rights and gender justice, labor organizing and economic justice, immigrant and refugee rights, racial justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, foster care, progressive Jewish activism, and counter-white nationalism. Jeyn earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College and holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University.
