Suzette is the People Team Coordinator at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. In this role, Suzette supports Democracy Fund’s recruitment team through project management, coordination, and administration for our hiring, onboarding, and employee engagement processes.
Prior to joining Democracy Fund, Suzette was a middle school and high school social studies teacher for 18 years. Suzette remains a doer who loves to help others, improve systems, and keep processes moving. During her teaching career, she earned her national board certification and was a James Madison Memorial Fellow from California. She also brings many years of volunteer experience, throughout which she has supported initiatives that align with her commitment of working toward a more equitable, just, inclusive, and democratic society.
Suzette holds a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Arizona and an M.A. in U.S. history from Stanford University.
