Maria Rapisarda is the Team Coordinator for the Governance program at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. Maria provides high-level programmatic and administrative support by strengthening the team’s systems, operations, project management initiatives, cross-program collaborations, and grantmaking efforts.
Prior to joining Democracy Fund, Maria served as the Talent Acquisition Specialist at Vital Voices Global Partnership, overseeing the recruitment of candidates for roles across all the organization and managing the VV Internship Program. In addition, Maria provided coordination as a Program Coordinator to the Vital Voices Leadership Journey Course to amplify women leading change around the world. She has experience supporting various non-profits including the Community Resource Center in Denver, Colorado and the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition in Nashville, Tennessee.
Maria graduated magna cum laude with an M.A. in International Studies and a concentration in policy analysis from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and a B.A. in International Affairs and History from Butler University in Indianapolis.
