Nathaniel Turner is a Program Manager at Democracy Fund, an independent foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. Focusing on checks and balances and the rule of law, Nathaniel supports the Governance Program in its mission to strengthen safeguards that ensure our government is transparent and accountable to the public. Current grantees of the Governance Program include the Project on Government Oversight and Protect Democracy.
Prior to joining Democracy Fund, Nathaniel worked as a Legislative Assistant at the American Civil Liberties Union. There he advocated before Congress on issues including surveillance reform, privacy, and cybersecurity. Before joining the ACLU, Nathaniel was a policy analyst at the Charity & Security Network, where he worked to reform national security policies that impacted the work of charitable organizations and peacebuilders.
Nathaniel graduated from American University with a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters of Public Administration.
